Abstract:
This study investigates the current state of adherence to the rights of children with disabilities
in Rwanda, focusing on legal protections, access to essential services, and societal inclusion.
Utilizing a comprehensive desk research methodology, the study reviews international and
national legal instruments, case law, and academic literature. Key findings highlight
significant advancements in legal frameworks and policy initiatives, yet persistent challenges
remain, including limited resources and societal biases. Recommendations emphasize the
need for robust implementation of laws, capacity building, and inclusive education initiatives
to enhance the protection and promotion of the rights of children with disabilities in Rwanda.
