dc.description.abstract This study investigates the effect of tourism on economic growth in Rwanda during the period from 2017 to 2022. The research aims to analyze the contributions of tourism to various economic indicators, including GDP growth, employment rates, and foreign direct investment (FDI). Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study incorporates quantitative data analysis from national statistics and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders in the tourism sector. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between tourism development and economic growth in Rwanda, highlighting that increased tourist arrivals have led to enhanced revenue generation, job creation, and infrastructural improvements. Additionally, the study identifies challenges faced by the sector, such as sustainability concerns and the impact of global events like the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, this research demonstrates that tourism is a vital component of Rwanda’s economic strategy and contributes substantially to its growth trajectory. The objectives of understanding tourism’s role in economic performance, assessing its impact on employment and investment, and identifying barriers to sustainable growth have been thoroughly achieved through comprehensive data collection and analysis. en_US
