This project focuses on the development of an IoT-based smoke detection system with an alarm
for Ruliba Clays Ltd. The primary goal is to enhance fire safety by deploying a system that
monitors smoke levels and triggers alarms to prevent fire hazards. Chapter one will provide an
overview of fire safety technology, discussing the evolution of smoke detection systems and the
increasing role of IoT in industrial safety. It also examines the specific fire risks faced by Ruliba
Clays Ltd. and the current measures in place. Chapter two explores the system's architecture,
covering the key components such as the Arduino microcontroller, smoke sensors, alarm
systems, and Bluetooth communication. This chapter also explains how the system functions
without reliance on Wi-Fi, focusing on offline IoT capabilities. Chapter three delves into the
system analysis and design, identifying the limitations of existing fire safety measures at Ruliba
Clays Ltd. and proposing a comprehensive solution with features like real-time smoke detection,
alarm triggers, and staff notification. Tools such as functional diagrams, data flow diagrams,
and system flowcharts will be used to illustrate the system's design. The final chapter details the
system's implementation, highlighting the coding of core modules and the integration of
components such as the MQ-2 smoke sensor and OLED display using Arduino programming.
This section also covers the system testing and validation process to ensure the smoke detection
system meets the fire safety needs of the facility. Keywords relevant to this project include IoT,
smoke detection, fire safety, Arduino, and alarm system. |
