Abstract:
The general objectives of this study was to analyze the Role of Copedu Services to the socio- economic development of their customers
The specific objectives of the study were . To assess the effectiveness of services delivered to COPEDU PLC. To Find out the contribution of services provided by COPEDU PLC to the socio- economic development of its customers
The study population included the 40000 Customers of COPEDU . The sample of 68 participants have been investigated using questionnaires and interviews and 7 staffs. The stratified sampling techniques have been adopted . About 6.7% of respondents joined COPEDU PLC / MAIN BRANCH for a reason of business advice, 62.7% joined COPEDU PLC / MAIN BRANCH for reason of benefit for a loan, 26.6% joined for a reason of security for their money whereas 4% joined to improve standard of living. About 100% of respondents realized the benefit of loan got from COPEDU PLC / MAIN BRANCH. In this study, it was revealed that the majority of loan beneficiary allocate the obtained funds into income generating activities where about10.7% of the respondents applied for TINYUKA loan which support the women’s projects, 24% of respondents applies for ordinary commercial loan, and about 13.3% applies for IGURIRE IYAWE loan which help the motor bicycle riders to help them to buy their own bikes. According to the research undertaken, 62.7% of respondents were only getting income between 10,000-50,000Frw, 22.7% of respondents were getting income between 50,001-150,000Frw as income before receiving loans. After getting loans the majority respondents said that their income has increased as they are concentrated between 150,001-500,000Frw and those who obtained above 500,000Frw as the income per month was 1.3% but after the intervention of loans from COPEDU PLC / MAIN BRANCH they have increased up to 4%.

The majority of respondents have said that after joining COPEDU PLC / MAIN BRANCH has enabled customers or members to increase their saving. Most of the respondents agreed that the access to medical services increased from 72% to 96%. Most of the respondents agreed that the access to food increased from 64% to 92%. The credit granted by the COPEDU PLC / MAIN BRANCH, Main branch allowed its members to be able to get easily clean water into their households, where only 36% of members was able to access clean water before using loans from the microfinance, this rate increased up to 94.6% after using the money from the COPEDU PLC / MAIN BRANCH. Most of the respondents agreed that the access to electricity increased from 60% to 97.3%
