Abstract:
The main purpose of this study was to assess the effect of employees‟ motivation to the performance of manufacturing companies in Rwanda. Despite this, Rwandan manufacturing companies where Sulfo Industries is located fail to motivate effectively their both casual and permanent employees. In conducting this research, two objectives were laid out to find out the effectiveness of employees‟ motivation incentives offered by Sulfo Rwanda Industries and to establish the relationship between employees‟ motivation and the performance of manufacturing companies in Rwanda. To achieve these objectives, literature was reviewed on the subject matter including the definition of key concepts, theoretical review, empirical review, theoretical framework and conceptual framework; furthermore the data was collected by from the total of 326 employees of Sulfo Rwanda Industries and out of them a sample size of 77 respondents have been selected purposively from the total population. Questionnaire and documentation were used as tools of data collection. Data was processed by using editing, coding and tabulation and data was also analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Findings revealed that 77 (100%) respondents strongly agreed that Sulfo Industries ‟s employee reward systems refer to programs set up to reward performance and motivate employees on individual and/or group levels and 72 (95.5%) respondents strongly agreed that the amount of working hour‟s expected to Sulfo Industries employee is reasonable and 5 (6.5%) respondents agreed on the point. 77 (100%) respondents strongly agreed that Sulfo Industries financial rewards are especially focusing about those given on a regular basis such as bonuses, profit sharing; 67 (87.1%) respondents strongly agreed that Sulfo Industries offers social benefits ( sponsored clubs, paid sport leisure‟s, etc) responsible and 10 (12.9%) respondents agreed on the point. Furthermore, Sulfo Rwanda Industries has positive inventory turnover ratios from 3.3 in 2019, 3.1, 3.4 and 3.6 respectively the years of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022‟ finally coefficient of correlation between employees‟ motivation and the performance of manufacturing companies in Rwanda is equalized to .882, thus named that there is a strong positive linear relationship between these two variables. The study also recommended that Sulfo Rwanda Industries should continuously improve its implementation of promotion policies.
