ROLE OF SMES TO THE SOCIO -ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF BUSINESS OWNERS IN RWANDA A CASE STUDY: SELECTED SMES IN NYARUGENGE DISTRICT PERIOD: 2019-2023

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the role of SMES to the socio economic development of business owners in Rwanda, a case study: selected SMES in Nyarugenge district, period: 2019- 2023. The objective of the study is to establish the nature of services offered by small and medium in Rwanda especially, to examine the role of selected small and medium enterprises in socio economic development of business owners in Rwanda. This study deliver in four chapters and different subchapters which are as follows chapter one general introduction general introduction which discusses about key component which are; introductions, background of the study, objectives, problem statement, scope of the study. The second chapter discuss the literature review of the study, the literature review provides the reader with the explanation of the theoretical ration of the problem being study, and relevant literature on small and medium enterprises in socio economic development in Rural areas of Rwanda, the third chapter that point out, research design, populations of the study, sample size, methods and techniques that used to obtain data and information from the field, the fourth chapter present presentation analysis of the findings and interpretation that will provide the answers to the research questions of the study or results of tests of the hypotheses, at the end this study end by the conclusion and suggestions. Chapter two literature review in this chapter the researcher cover the theoretical issues including introductions of key concepts, overview and the general outlook concerning the role of SMEs and to the socio economic development of Rwanda. Chapter three is research methodology it contains the study design, research population, sample technique, data processing, technique of data collections, sample size is 68 from respondents from selected SMES located in Nyarugenge District, method of data analysis, validity and reliability, this chapter and limitation of the study. Chapter four is data analysis and interpretation, it present the information collected, contains the analysis of secondary data from the field in related to the role of SMES to the socio economic development of business owners in Rwanda, a case study: selected SMES in Nyarugenge district, period: 2019-2023. In this study the correlation were .954 because it greater than 0.5 it is in that regard the researcher confirmed that there is relationship between SMES and the socio economic development of Rwanda.With the data collected from the field researcher confirmed that there is role of small and medium enterprises to the social economic development of business owners in Rwanda, with the data collected from the field researcher confirmed that SMES help the owners to its social economic development and also researcher confirmed that all objective of this study were achieved and the hypothesis were verified and confirmed.
