Abstract:
Plastic bricks are bricks made in plastic waste and sand, these are commonly used as decorative
method of creating an interlocking brick made of sand and plastic waste, the main benefit of the
brick over other materials is that during the cost estimation of the structurer the wastage is
minimized to 1.5%
GASABO District need to be more developed in construction industrials especially GISOZI
Sector because it has the problem of different plastic wastage that affect the environment and
poor durable materials for using in construction, that is why we created plastic interlocking
bricks by recycling plastic materials, this project will protect the environment and provide the
sustainable durable materials in construction.
The main objective of this project is to produce durable interlocking brick made of sand and
plastic waste for upgrading the method of construction through interlocking bricks made of sand
and plastic waste materials. In general, during this project we have shown the process of
production of interlocking brick made of sand and plastic waste and here are requirements to
follow (the size of mold, amount of plastic wastage per week, testing materials like sieve analysis
and compressive strength of the specimen). According to the laboratory test, the compressive
strength of interlocking brick made of sand and plastic waste is 104KN, then the interlocking
brick made of sand and plastic has 4edges, weight is 7.279Kg and dimension are; length 25cm,
height is 15cm and thickness is 10cm. our interlocking brick made of sand and plastic material is
used as interlock wall bricks and its importance are low cost, environmental friendly, durable and
high strength, low maintenance fee, decrease the plastic waste and its impact by recycling them
to be re used as a construction material.
