dc.description.abstract The creation of novel solutions like RFID-based smart locks has been fueled by the growing need for automated and secure access control systems in residences, workplaces, and other establishments. Lock picking, key duplication, and tampering are just a few of the security threats associated with traditional locks, which are operated by physical keys. Moreover, these traditional systems are unable to notify users in real time of any unwanted access attempts, which leaves people and property at risk. This project focuses on designing and implementing a smart door lock system that employs GSM connection and RFID technology to transmit real-time alerts when entry is denied in order to address these problems. The core of the system is an Arduino microcontroller, which acts as the main control module. By determining if an RFID card or tag is authorized, it processes data from the RFID reader to authenticate users. The door is unlocked by the system if the user is authenticated. But in the event that someone not allowed tries to open the door, the system sets off the GSM module to instantly notify the property owner or security staff by SMS of the security breach. This instant alert makes it possible to act quickly, greatly enhancing the security system's efficacy. Compared to conventional key-based locks, the RFID door lock system is more reliable and convenient in addition to offering real-time notifications. By doing away with physical keys—which are more prone to theft, loss, or duplication RFID cards improve security. In addition, the system is built to function independently, reducing the need for human involvement and guaranteeing safe and easy access management. The addition of GSM technology expands the capabilities of the system by offering remote monitoring a feature that is very helpful for security staff, company owners, and homeowners. This guarantees that even in the event that the property owner is not physically present, security breaches can be quickly identified and addressed. In addition to being affordable, the system's accessibility benefits a broad spectrum of users, including institutions, enterprises, and homeowners. This smart door lock technology has a big impact on society. By limiting illegal entry and lowering the possibility of security incidents like theft or incursion, it improves the safety of properties. This system offers a dependable, effective, and expandable solution for settings where security is of the utmost importance, like residences, workplaces, hotels, and medical facilities. The RFID door lock with message alert system offers real-time alerts and addresses the shortcomings of conventional locks, making it a contemporary and useful solution for enhancing security in today's hectic world. en_US
