dc.description.abstract This project presents the design and implementation of a Smart Agrivoltaic System using IoT aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity while generating renewable energy. By integrating solar energy with smart farming technology, the system addresses challenges in food production and energy efficiency, particularly in resource-limited regions. The prototype automates irrigation based on real-time environmental data, such as soil moisture, temperature, and humidity, gathered by sensors and controlled via a NodeMCU microcontroller. Solar panels power the IoT-based system, with excess energy directed to electrical loads or stored for later use. The system employs a soil moisture sensor to manage water levels, a DHT11 sensor to monitor temperature and humidity, and voltage and current sensors to track energy generation and consumption. The entire setup is controlled remotely, and data is displayed on a dashboard for real-time monitoring. This ensures optimized resource use, reduced manual labor, and improved agricultural yield, all while promoting sustainability through the use of clean energy. The Smart Agrivoltaic System represents a scalable and eco-friendly solution, providing a pathway for efficient farming and energy management, particularly in regions like South Sudan, where water and electricity are often scarce. en_US
